Benjamin is doing GREAT! Wow he is changing so much. At his last doctors appointment he weight 8lbs and 12 ozs and Im sure he weighs over 9 now. He is very long and lean though, so he is still in most of his newborn clothes. I find because he is so lean that he doesnt fit into his 0-3 months pants. He just has no bum! lol.(He obviously doesnt take after his mommy here.). He is also smiling more an dmore every day, although I still find him selective with his smiles. You can always see him taking everything in. There is a picture over our sofa of some cows that I took and he could stare all day long at it. I should make a copy of it for his room. I noticed a couple times that when I would lay him down on the bed I would find that he rolled over. However I always missed it. This morning we were having some tummy time and next thing I know he rolled right over! I rolled him back and put his arms up near his head so that I could see it again(just to make sure lol), and sure enough a few minutes later he rolled over again. So I went to grab the camcorder and of course he wouldnt roll over again lol.
Ben seems to have a bit of a routine now, however I am not holding my breath because I know that it could change any day. He wakes up every morning around 9/9:30 and has a bottle. After his bottle he is usually awake and this is when I will have tummy time or floor time. He loves playing under his activity mat, or being near a window. From the time he gets up till around noon he is awake. I will give him another bottle and than he is down for a good 3 hours. When he gets up he has another bottle and than is up for about an hour or so. He will than have a short nap usually in his swing or in his pack n play(which is in our living room). At 7 he has another bottle He is pretty content until around 8, than comes the fussy time. EVERY night he is fussy around this time, until his last bottle which is around 10. Last night I fed him at 7 and than again at 8:30 because he was ssoo fussy! Once he goes down for the night he sleeps until 5(has done this since he was 3 days old). I feed him at 5 and than he is back down until he wakes up around 9am. I am thinking today I am going to give him an extra ounce today at his 3pm feeding and seeing if I can give him another ounce at 8pm and than put him down for the night...not sure if it will work but its worth a try!
Its been just over 4 weeks since giving birth and I am feeling great! The first two weeks were really hard. I was just so tired from being in labour for so long and than of course I was in a lot of pain too. It hurt to walk, to sit, and of course to even pee! I remember saying to Remko that I just wanted to fast forward two weeks so that my body would be feeling better than I could enjoy Benjamin more. It was rough. When Benjamin was born I knew that I wanted to breastfeed him. The first feeding went well. However he had difficulty latching the second feeding and the third. So i had to pump in the hospital. Once I got hom I noticed that Benjamin was tongue tied(which explained why he had difficulty latching!). He could nurse from me if I had a nipple sheald, but even than it wasnt great and he would work so hard to nurse that he would just get frustrated. So I would pump in between and than give him a bottle. I thought I would try to pump and than just give him the bottle. It was so hard seeing him struggle to nurse, and when I gave him the bottle he was able to drink great!. However after a few days of pumping we decided to switch to formula and its been great!! As much as I wanted to breastfeed, I also wanted to do what was best for Benjamin and myself.
After the first two weeks I have been started to feel better as each day passes. I am more active and just feel better overall. I have lost all my pregnancy weight and than some. I am actually smaller now than I have been in over 2 years! I think I gained a few pounds from the fertility drugs and its nice to be losing that extra weight.
Here are a couple pictures that I took:

Breastfeeding was tough for us. We hung in there until 6 weeks and then I got an infection and said "forget about it." It was a hard decision to make, but we did what was best for our family. I lost a ton of weight after I had Emma Kate also. The only problem, now I am two pounds heavier than before I was pregnant, so trying to get that and some more off! Benjamin is just adorable!!!
